Some People...

I have never been one to understand just WHY people do or say some things, however I am disgusted by peoples actions.  Everyday we see poor children suffering from bullying, we see depression in teenagers and young adults and then we see downright patheticism from grown a** adults.  What is the point about being nasty, dirty and lying?

One thing that really stands out to me is a saying in my Sorority Prayer:

"never speak evil of a sister's good name"

We may not all be "sisters" or even close to related, but we all are children of someone and we are all lucky enough to see the light of day each morning when we awake, so why waste our days pulling others down, rather then lifting them up?

Some people in this world and in my life speak negatively of others, and I am adult enough to admit that I have done this myself.  Does it feel good at the time? Maybe, but really I end the day feeling guilty that I even put myself on that sub-par level.   Even worse then stooping that low are those who stalk and some even plot against other people.  Really, what are they doing besides proving they have nothing better in their life then that focus?
In my eyes, you can say what you will... because ultimately you are living a miserable life OBSESSING about my life, while I am actually LIVING my life.

Do not get me wrong, I have made some mistakes in my life - I am NO angel (despite what Tony tells me).   I have also spoke negatively about others and thought nasty thoughts - but then again I was also in my late-teens/early 20's and probably PMS'ing.  I have learned since then and I can say for a FACT that I have grown up and above those actions. I also realized quickly that my actions were closely related to the negative people I had surrounding me in my life and once I was able to "clean house" so to speak - the drama and negativity have disappeared.  FINALLY, a breathe of fresh air.

I just hope that someday people will wake up and realize that being an adult means not acting like a child.  Hating someone out of pure jealously or lack or intelligence will get you no where in this world.  And on that note and this point in time I would like to thank my haters...  because without your nasty and negative words, I would not have realized just how amazing my life has turned out to be!

Oh, and pretty please be an adult. If you dislike me, then tell me. I am okay with it!  Resorting to pathetic Twitter/Facebook/Internet posts only proves how much you are obsessing and how sad you really are.  Use Social Media for what it is for... sharing your happiness and your achievements  - I promise this will help you!

And actually, I really feel that the new Taylor Swift song, MEAN applies to thoughts on my haters, so enjoy it:

Busy Busy Bee....

Attitude- Pick a good one.  - (from my Dove Chocolate)

Today I have been more than busy speaking with merchants all over the states and in Chicago to be featured on YouSwoop.com! I literally love this job - great concept, great office, amazing people - literally I could not be happier!  If anyone every has their own company or knows someone who does, please let me know and I can work on structuring a marketing campaign to help drive business through the doors.

On another note, I made my appointment to go back to blonde! It sounds silly, but what they say IS true. Blondes do have more fun, so look out for pictures on Friday of beautiful locks flowing in the Chicago sunshine! I cannot wait for summertime Chi to hit North Avenue Beach, different hot spots and of course, outdoor cafes! Can Summer please come faster? I am so over this cold weather... I am most certainly going to be looking into vacation options in the mean time for some much needed Vitamin D!  Florida anyone?

Oh sheesh....4:15 - I have to get back to work! I have at least 20 more calls to make!

Did you spend $5 today?

Things to think about:  Did you spend $5 today on something you really didn't need? Did you toss a water bottle in the trash that was half full? Did you leave the faucet running as you brushed your teeth this morning?

Fact: 3900 children die each day from water borne diseases
Fact: 1.1 billion people in the world do not have access to clean water for drinking

The Cause: As most of my family and friends know, I am working on raising money for MyGenerosity.org to build a well  in Liberia, Ghana, India, or Peru.  These 4 countries are currently lacking access to clean water, leaving villages mourning the loss of their loved ones due to water borne diseases.

How it works:

Currently I have raised $685and it costs $3,000 to build a well.  My goal is to have this completed by my birthday in August!  Which means I have 5 months to raise $2,315 (more then doable) - and anything over will go towards a second well!

All proceeds go directly to MyGenerosity.org  -  to donate, please go to my fundraising page: http://www.mygenerositywater.org/jennylynn

Even the smallest donation helps! Pay it forward ~

Spring Cleaning....

99% of running is just showing up, getting out there and putting one foot in front of the other - John Hac

This past year has been a whirlwind, but I am more than excited for 2011 and everything to come! Like John Hac said above, I am ready to put one foot in front of the other this year and conquer 2011!

As many of you know I was working at DeVry University as an admissions adviser and quickly realized I was wasting my time and talent, so I turned to my passion, Sports.  I began working for a blog turned wannabe website, StateStSports - which required me to focus all my time on their development rather then on Fabulous in ChiCity. (However if you were one of the few lucky enough to see the end of that chapter you must be looking forward to learning about what really happened - in time, I promise).  Anyway, the GREAT news is that I found a NEW CAREER at YouSwoop.com (I will tell you all about it) and I have now updated and brought back Fabulous in ChiCity - yes, I am back!  I am going to pour my heart into this and not expect anything in return, heck, who knows if anyone will read it, but I do know that I will not be distracted this time around.

Now that is time for spring cleaning to begin... I will share my goals, plans and everything else in between!   Stay tuned, because you never know what you are going to get :)
